Fucking COVID
Well, I fucking got covid. It’s terrible. 3 years later and I finally got it. Fuck.

Having raised Mason all through his sporting adventures, I get to do it all over again with Jameson. But this time with a whole new perspective. I don’t get to watch Jameson much, as his sports days coincide with Mason’s and they are at the Wilkes-Barre YMCA Well this week was my week! I took the week off for Susie’s surgery and I got to watch 2 events. The first was his swim evaluation. ...
The JV team had a tough one Tuesday. They played a better team and had a nice 6 run lead heading into the 6th inning. The “coach” made a pitching change and put Kam in, who promptly let 5 runs score in the bottom of the sixth. Instead of putting in a closer he put Kam back on the mound and they score 2 in the bottom of the 7th to win. The kids were pissed. Eric is shithead. The 9th graders can’t wait to be off his team. And apparently it’s his last year to try his hand at coaching. ...
It’s been 3 days since the surgery and things are progressing very well. The incisions are healing, she’s getting her strength back and today we went for a walk. Her brain still goes too fast and she thingks she should be 100% physically by now, but I had to reassure her tonight that she’s doing great.
Susie had her surgery today. Evrything went amazingly well. We were the first “case” so we had to check in at 6. They wheeled ger out at 7:30, the Surgeon called me at 8:22 to report a perfectly successful procedure, and she was back in the room by 10. She was sleepy and didn’t remember much from the time they brought her back until the time we left, which was around noon. All in all it was about as perfect as you could hope for. ...
For the first time in 10 years I was ejected from a baseball game. It started with a shit umpire and ended with a shit umpire. We played Valley West today. I sent Tim a picture. Then it got bad. The home plate ump, who was working alone, made a series of bad call against Berwick. The last straw was against Mason, who was called out when he had tagged first while the baseman was in the air trying to catch the throw. ...
Just finished up this long week. I worked my usual weekend shift, but Tuesday I flew to Wisconsin with Andy for this year’s meeting. It was a good meeting, lots of cool information, machine upgrades and mods. All in all it was great time, but I felt overwhelmed and out of my depth. Cripes, in the introduction I forgot to tell the group how long I’d been with the company, and blurted out I was the only non-manager present in a totally fucking awkward fashion. ...
May the 4th be with you! Also RIP Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch
It finally happened. I’d been avoiding it for a few weeks now. No longer! I taught Mason how to shave today. Fuck I’m getting old.
Smart phones are a pretty personal thing. Everyone likes what they like, certain features are a must, or a deal-breaker. I’m no different. So I bought a Motorola phone 4 phones ago. A co-worker was singing their praises and making fun of me for not having one, so I succumbed to pressure and bought one. It was the Moto g6 and I loved it! I used it until it basically stopped being functional, which was only about 2 years sadly. The only gripe I had with that phone was the placement of the fingerprint sensor. It was on the only physical button on the front of the phone which was also the Home button. It worked well enough, but the placement was less than ideal. ...
