Mason has been benched since we came back from Myrtle Beach by his awesome Legion coach. He’s done that same bullshit all 3 years Mason has played Legion ball. Well, in a marathon game this afternoon that same coach ran out of pitchers and had to put Mason on the mound. Now, Mason ain’t no pitcher, but he pitched a three inning no-hitter, with 3 K’s and helped the team win to stay undefeated in the Regionals Tournament....
The JV team had a tough one Tuesday. They played a better team and had a nice 6 run lead heading into the 6th inning. The “coach” made a pitching change and put Kam in, who promptly let 5 runs score in the bottom of the sixth. Instead of putting in a closer he put Kam back on the mound and they score 2 in the bottom of the 7th to win....
For the first time in 10 years I was ejected from a baseball game. It started with a shit umpire and ended with a shit umpire. We played Valley West today. I sent Tim a picture. Then it got bad. The home plate ump, who was working alone, made a series of bad call against Berwick. The last straw was against Mason, who was called out when he had tagged first while the baseman was in the air trying to catch the throw....
It’s that fabulous time of the year again. Spring. And with Spring comes Baseball! The big leagues are playing, fans are back in most stadiums in some capacity, and Mason is playing too! Very much playing. On 4 teams! So the schedule is pretty hectic, and it seems like all I’m doing is driving to this practice, or that game, or some other field. But I love it. Which Susie loves to remind when I start to complain about all the running....
